Caterina realized the importance of keeping the Italian culture and language alive in her family, and she started to create Italian playgroups. From these Italian playgroups sparked the idea for Scuola Italiana Enrico Fermi.
Caterina was born in Genoa, Italy; she graduated from the University of Genoa, where she received her PhD in Biodiversity Conservation and her Master’s degree in Biology.
She moved to US in 2007 and currently lives in Chicago with her husband and her three children.
While raising her children in the USA, Caterina realized the importance of keeping the Italian culture and language alive in her family, and she started to create Italian playgroups. From these Italian playgroups sparked the idea for Scuola Italiana Enrico Fermi.
Caterina is one of SIEF’s cofounders, is a very active member of the Board and is responsible for promotion, events and fundraising for the school. She is one of the teachers in the kindergarten class with focus in teaching earth and life sciences.
Caterina is passionate about science combined with bilingual education and she strongly believes in SIEF’s vision and mission.
