The “atelier of the body” is an embrace of play, motion, kinesiology, theatre, and truly being present with children.
Natalja Aicardi is an International multi-disciplinary theatre creator from Italy, based in Chicago since 2005; she’s worked as movement director and choreographer for musical theatre, new operas and children’s theatre, with the Theatre Building Chicago, Caffeine Theatre, Stockyard theatre Project, Chicago Opera Vanguard, Chicago Fringe Opera and Northwestern University Theatre and Music Departments. She danced with The New Yiddish Dance Ensemble for DanceBridge, Theatre Un Speak Able and CocoDanceGroup. She was the recipient of the 2014 “In The Works” residency for DCASE at the cultural center and developed and performed her own original work. She devised physical theatre works for festivals at IO Theatre, stage 773 and The Revival Theatre. In 2015 she graduated from The School for Theatre Creators, by Paola Colletto. She’s a company dancer for Lin Shook’s Perceptual Motion Inc. and she develops her own solo work to empower people to follow their dreams and find their voice. Natalja teaches yoga, Italian, dance to children and adults and creates storytelling shows for young Italian audiences.
