Experiencing a new culture, way of living, as well as a different language sparked Tim’s interest in traveling the globe.

When Tim was in 9th grade he went on a mission trip to Juarez, Mexico, which had an immense impact on him and helped shape his views of the world. Experiencing a new culture, way of living, as well as a different language sparked Tim’s interest in traveling the globe.

When he was a freshman in college, Tim had the privilege of traveling to Coban, Guatemala, to deliver clean-water filters to rural communities. These trips shaped Tim’s passion for language learning, as well as a strong desire to immerse himself in more cultures around the world.

During Tim’s undergrad at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain, and fell head over heels in love with the country. Tim loved it so much that after graduating, he moved to Madrid, Spain, to teach English at an immersion K-8 school. Upon moving home to Minneapolis, Tim went back to school to get a Master’s of Education.

Some of the countries Tim McGinty has been to are Italy, France, Portugal, Germany, Austria, England, Ireland, Mexico, El Salvador, Jamaica. Tim’s favorite city in Italy is Firenze.
